How to use Tape Check on the website.

Getting in

On the Tape Check page you can also open How to read the numbers below the app.

What you enter

InputRequiredNotes
Trades (result per trade and trading day)yesResult in R when possible; otherwise derived from money result and risk per trade.
Cost per tradeyesCommission, fees, slippage – you enter the number; we do not guess.
Account rules (target, max loss, floor type, daily limit)optional templateGeneric template; no firm presets.
MAE / MFE per tradeoptionalWith MAE and MFE we bound the path. Exact computation for stop/target brackets; for other exits, assumption and span.

Before computing you see what was recognised (trade count, contracts, total).

Reading the result

Four cards:

  1. Chance-pass rate – of 100 traders with no edge, how many pass with your rules and costs.
  2. Detection limit – smallest edge per trade your sample could detect with 80 % probability at your trade count.
  3. Rank – where you sit among simulated no-edge traders. Rank is not the probability that you have skill.
  4. Countdown – roughly how many more trades you need before an edge of 0.10 R per trade would be measurable (planning value, preliminary rule set).

Plus “Save receipt”: the proof receipt is stored as a file on your device.

Planned after the beta: edge band (from 150 trades), verdict levels, stamped forecast, sharing as a card.

Why no firm names?

The rule templates in Tape Check are neutral example values you adjust. You can enter your own rules. We are not tied to any firm and we do not earn money from evaluations run by other providers.

This page is the user guide. It does not add promises beyond what the app and the Privacy page already say.
